“I Believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth” (Contemporary)
It is good here to positively emphasize God’s eternal power and divine nature, and the availability of God’s testimony. This passage comes within the chapter and book context of our sinful shortcomings, and it is important not to gloss over that. Still, God’s nature, power, and goodness should always come first in the discussion. Establish focus on God’s light before talking about darkness.
