Children
- Sunday School at both campuses, with nursery, preschool, and elementary options
- Check-in from 9:30 a.m. at the Children’s hall security doors
- Children’s Moments during 8:30 and 11:00 worship and 1:00 La Roca
- Generations Mondays and B.L.A.S.T. Wednesdays, 6:00–8:00 p.m.
- All staff and volunteers are background-checked and Safe Gatherings trained

Students
- Youth Midweek Wednesdays 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the 1604 Youth Building — dinner, games, and age-specific small groups
- Youth Sunday School Sundays 9:45–10:45 a.m. at the 1604 Youth Building — year-round Bible study and conversation
- Youth Worship Nights once a month at the 1604 Worship Center — the whole youth ministry together for worship and teaching
- Midweek gatherings follow the school year, with Midweek: Hangouts and Midweek: Missions nights mixed in
Ages 18 and up
Adults
- Sunday School 9:45 a.m. — visit around until you find your class
- Bible studies mornings and evenings, most days of the week
- Small groups, quilting, United Women in Faith, United Methodist Men
- Service teams that put faith into practice
Children’s Ministry
A place to worship, learn, and belong.
Children begin worship with their families, grow through age-appropriate Bible lessons, and build friendships through the week.
Sunday mornings
Worship & Sunday School
Children’s Moments are part of the 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. worship services at the 1604 Campus and the 1:00 p.m. La Roca service at the Ministry Center Campus. Children begin worship with their families, come to the stage for Children’s Moments, and then join Sunday School.
- 1604 preschool: nursery at 8:30 and 9:45 a.m.; a preschool-focused Sunday School lesson at 11:00 a.m.
- 1604 elementary: Sunday School at 9:45 and 11:00 a.m. Both hours use the same content with varied activities for children who stay for both.
- Ministry Center elementary: Sunday School during the 1:00 p.m. La Roca service.
Mondays · 6:00–8:00 p.m.
Generations: Practicing Presence
An evening of fellowship, worship, Bible study, and games at the Ministry Center Campus.
Dinner is provided.
Wednesdays · 6:00–8:00 p.m.
B.L.A.S.T.
Believing, Learning, and Seeking Together is an evening of fellowship, worship, Bible study, and games at the 1604 Campus.
Dinner is provided.
Sunday School, Bible studies & small groups
Sunday mornings and groups throughout the week.
Sunday School meets at 9:45 a.m. for children, students, and adults, with children’s classes also offered at 11:00 a.m. Studies and groups meet on different days and at different times — including men’s and women’s studies, young families, empty-nesters, recovery, prayer, and topical classes.

Day School · ages 5 weeks–Kindergarten
Northern Hills Day School
Our weekday Christian preschool and early-learning program — a loving, faith-rooted start for children from five weeks old through Kindergarten, and a warm welcome for young families into the life of the church.
The program
We believe children learn best through hands-on experience. Our activities encourage curiosity, questions, and discovery of God’s world, in a creative environment that builds independence and a sense of accomplishment.
- Ages: 5 weeks through Kindergarten
- Hours: 8:45 a.m.–2:15 p.m., Monday–Friday, August through May
- Calendar: Day School Academic Calendar 2026–27 ↗ — first day August 24, last day May 21
- Schedules: 5 weeks through older 3s attend 2 days (T/Th), 3 days (M/W/F), or 5 days. Pre-K and Kindergarten are 5 days only.
- Early Bird: 7:30–8:45 a.m. · After School Care: 2:15–4:30 p.m.
- Infant class: 6-to-2 ratio, CPR and First Aid certified teachers, limited spaces

2026–2027 monthly tuition, due by the 5th of each month.

We believe we were created to do life together. Sunday School classes, Emmaus reunion groups, quilters, retirees, recovery, prayer, and circles for women and men gather throughout the week, with options for different seasons and schedules.
There’s always a next step and never a finish line.
Mondays
Emmaus reunion groups
Soul Sisters (women) and The NOMADS (men) both meet at 6:00 p.m. — accountability groups built on the Walk to Emmaus experience.
Tuesdays
Women’s Emmaus & UWF circles
Women’s Emmaus Reunion 1:30 p.m. (1st, 2nd & 4th) and 10:00 a.m. (3rd). United Women in Faith — Circle of Love, 2nd Tuesday at noon.
Wednesdays
Quilters & Wednesday studies
Quilters at 10:00 a.m., making quilts for Quilts of Valor, chemo patients and special-needs children. Wednesday Nite Life Bible studies at 7:00 p.m., September–May.
Thursdays
Rambunctious Retirees
11:30 a.m. — singles and couples who gather for food, fellowship, dominoes and the occasional trip together. You don’t have to be retired.
Monthly
Fellowship groups
Beyer Koinonia — a monthly potluck for couples of any age. Moving On — widowed, divorced and single members meeting the 3rd Saturday at a different restaurant each month.

Beatitudes Prayer Walk
A half mile, open to everyone.
This trail is free and open to the public from sunrise to sunset every day. We built it with three goals in mind.
- Spiritual growth — a chance to reflect on the Beatitudes and what scripture teaches about being “blessed.”
- Physical health — we recognized the need for public fitness space in this neighborhood, so the half-mile trail is a service to the community.
- Caring for God’s creation — in dialogue with the National Wildlife Federation, San Antonio River Authority, and Native Plant Society of Texas, we’ve planted native species along the trail to provide habitat for birds and pollinators.
QR codes at each station open a short reading for study and reflection. Prefer paper? Printed guides are available in the gathering area outside the church office.
Certified as a National Wildlife Federation Sacred Grounds site — the first in the state of Texas.

Beatitudes Prayer Walk
The Beatitudes Prayer Walk is a half-mile walking trail, open to the public, sunrise to sunset 365 days per year. The trailhead is the shipping container with tree mural, toward your right as you enter the 1604 campus. Trail information and devotionals are available there. Includes a variety of devotionals and eight prayer stations based on the beatitudes in Matthew 5.
