Embark on an epic quest through hidden ruins, ancient caves, and dense jungles. At "Treasured - Discovering You're Priceless to God," kids dig into action-packed, faith filled adventures. They'll discover God's greatest treasure isn't diamond, gems, or gold-it's them!
Kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and devour yummy treats, experience one-of-a-kind Bible Adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of God’s love, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings. Each day concludes with the Closing Quest that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned.

Is Northern Hills United Methodist Church (NHUMC) having more than 1 Vacation Bible School (VBS) program for the Ministry Center and for the Main Campus?
NHUMC will be offering 1 in-person VBS program at the 1604 Campus and will also offer the opportunity to join us online this year as well. Registration option selection is located on the registration form.
When is VBS?
Our in-person VBS will be Monday, June 7-Friday, June 11. Our online VBS will be made available beginning Monday, August 2.
Who is eligible to attend VBS?
VBS at NHUMC is open to children 3 years old (must be potty-trained) through 5th grade. Older children are encouraged to register to volunteer.
What are the hours of the VBS programs and is there a schedule I can refer to?
Hours of our in-person VBS program will be from 9:00 a.m. – noon. Our online VBS program hours are up to you! You will have the opportunity to watch them when made available beginning Monday, August 2. Have fun and watch at your convenience!
What COVID and safety precautions will NHUMC be taking for in-person VBS?
We will be allowing a limited amount of attendees as well as volunteers, staff and visitors on campus during the in-person program. We will spend time outdoors as much as possible, weather permitting, for air circulation and social distancing measures. The use of face masks for children’s first grade and up will be required by attendees, volunteers, staff and visitors. All attendees, volunteers, staff and visitors must self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms and report any recent history of close contact or exposure. Hand sanitization stations will be placed all entrances and exits. No buffet style food or drink will be served. We will also encourage social distancing and follow the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidance paired with local (city and state) guidance. All decisions made related to COVID-19 safety protocols and church activities are designated by our Board of Trustees. We will continue to keep you updated, as it pertains to COVID-19 safety protocols and church activities.

We will be limiting the amount of attendees due to COVID-19 safety protocols.
How do I register for VBS and is there a fee?
You can register online at www.nhumc.org and the fee is $15.00 to attend. Enrollment online for our in-person VBS program will end on Wednesday, May 26. Enrollment for our online VBS program will end on July 18. Scholarships are also available. Please contact Katherine Reed, Children’s Ministry Director, for more information regarding scholarship opportunities.
Is there anything I need to complete in advance of the in-person program?
We will need 3 forms completed to include the Information Google Form, and the NHUMC Healthy and Liability Waiver. If unable to complete online, please be prepared to complete these forms on Day 1 (Monday) of VBS or contact Katherine Reed, Children’s Ministry Director, in advance for other completion options.
What will my child receive as a part of the program?
The fee include a t-shirt, CD and various materials and snacks used throughout the week of VBS. Your child is welcome to wear their VBS t-shirt daily, so long as it is washed on a daily basis. At a minimum, please have your child wear their VBS t-shirt on Day 5 (Friday) to celebrate all they have learned throughout the week. The CD will have all the songs your child will be learning during the VBS program.
When will my child receive these items?
If attending in-person VBS, your child(ren) will receive these items during the week of VBS. If attending online VBS, you will be contacted directly as to when to pick up these items as well as when to use and wear items in connection with the Program.
Do I have to register for VBS or can I just show up?
Registration is required. Enrollment online for our in-person VBS program will end on Wednesday, May 26, and enrollment for our online VBS program will end on July 18.
How do I know if my child is enrolled for the in-person VBS session?
You will receive an email from Katherine Reed, Children’s Ministry Director letting you know if your child is enrolled for the in-person VBS session.
If we are attending the in-person VBS program what should my child(ren) bring?
We encourage that your child(ren) bring at least 2 clean masks to wear daily as well as a water bottle labeled with their name on it. Please do not bring hand sanitizer, as this will be made available on campus. Bringing electronics on campus are also discouraged.
Will snacks be served? What if my child has an allergy?
Individually packaged foods will be served. If your child has an allergy, please ensure to make us aware on your child(ren)’s registration form.
In years past I know children have donated to various ministries selected by the church. Will children collect donations this year?
This year children will donate to our school supplies ministry and we are planning a fun challenge for all grade levels. Your child will be given more information on this challenge during VBS week.
In the past there has been a Friday showcase where family and friends visit the church to view all songs the children have learned. Will there be a Friday showcase?
Due to our COVID-19 safety measures, we will not have a Friday showcase in 2021. More information to come about our plans to share what your children have learned during the fantastic week of VBS!

How are the age groups going to be divided?
Our goal is to group children according to grade level as much as possible, but classes may be blended depending on enrollment.
Do I need to come inside the church to drop off my child? What time is drop off and pick up?
For safety measures, you will have the opportunity to drop off and pick up your child off in the main driveway. Drop off can occur no earlier than 8:30 a.m. and pick up no later than 12:15 p.m. More instructions for drop off and pick up will be provided the week prior to VBS.
