Practice with someone who listens.
English learners are paired with a mentor whose first language is English. Small pairings—typically no more than two learners with each mentor—create room to practice everyday conversation, ask questions, and build confidence.
You do not need to speak Spanish to participate. Learners from many language backgrounds are welcome, and class time focuses on learning and practicing English.
English practice opens doors to connection.
Classes offer a friendly place to practice through conversation, shared stories, and encouragement. In 2025, Northern Hills reported 64 conversational ESL graduates.
Everyday English
Practice speaking and listening in a supportive environment built around real conversation.
Personal mentoring
Work in a small pairing with a native-English mentor who can encourage steady progress.
Citizenship preparation
Study for the naturalization exam with others. The class is educational and does not provide legal advice or legal representation.
