Beatitudes Prayer Walk

Welcome to the Beatitudes Prayer Walk at Northern Hills United Methodist Church.  This trail is free and open to the public from sunrise to sunset every day.

We developed this half mile walking trail with a few goals in mind:

• Empower spiritual growth - by giving a chance to reflect on the beatitudes and what scripture teaches about being "blessed," we offer encouragement to nature and grow in our faith.
• Empower physical health - we recognized the need for the public fitness spaces in this neighborhood, so we've created this half mile trail as a service to the community.
• Caring for God's creation - In dialogue with the National Wildlife Federation, San Antonio River Authority, and Native Plant Society of Texas, we've intentionally planted native species at various points along the trail to provide habitat for birds and pollinators.

SACRED Grounds

Northern Hills United Methodist Church is certified as a Sacred Grounds site with the National Wildlife Federation, the first such site in the state of Texas.  This acknowledges that NHUMC is committed to nature care, and we take seriously our role as stewards of God's creation.
