Since becoming the Senior Pastor of Northern Hills in 1989, Milton Lewis has seen plenty of things change – including the location of the church! But nothing can compare to the change Milton experienced during his freshman year in college.
"I met Jesus as a man, as a friend, as a human being, and everything in my life changed. I was seeking something deeper. I was seeking answers. I was in search of meaning in my life. In the midst of that search, Jesus came to me…and became real to me. I was conscious of His presence in a way I had never known. Discovering that relationship and offering that relationship to others has shaped my life ever since."
Milton graduated in 1972 from the University of Kentucky and received his Masters of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1975. He was ordained an elder in the United Methodist Church in 1978. He, his wife, Sallie, and their three children moved to San Antonio in 1983. Today, he is the proud grandfather of seven grandsons!
Milton believes passionately in the gospel and its power to change lives. He is a “real life” preacher and strives for messages, which are honest, biblical, and relevant.
“In these uncertain times,” he says, “the church has a unique opportunity to offer a powerful message of hope in God and to be a place of authentic community, where people can find support, friendship, healing, and encouragement. I believe in Jesus and His church as never before.” |
