At NHC we focus on substance, not style. We focus on God, not on the way in which we are worshiping God. Therefore, we do not lock ourselves into any fixed form of worship.

In planning worship, we draw upon the best of our heritage, and we draw upon the best of fresh new expressions of worship. We bear in mind the personality of the particular worship group for whom we are planning and the best way to engage them in vital worship. Normally we build each service around a particular theme.

This means that on one Sunday we may have more prayer, on another Sunday more singing, and on yet another Sunday a shorter or longer message. We value innovation and creativity over sameness and repetition. We strive for honesty and authenticity. We remain conscious of the fact that we are worshipers and not performers. We are not trying to please people, we are trying to please God.

What we pray for each Sunday is a “sacrifice of praise” in which God is glorified and people are blessed.
