"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

| Jesus' followers copied His example ... they incorporated prayer as a routine part of their daily
lives. They are found frequently praying together as they are empowered by the Holy Spirit to spread
the gospel throughout the Mediterranean region. The Early Church was guided by the Spirit of God through
Jesus’ teachings and prayer.
Our congregation at Northern Hills works to follow the pattern given by Jesus and established by those first Christians.
We acknowledge that we are to pray, know, and share the Good News that Jesus brought us. We are a Christian community
that gathers together in worship, prayer, and fellowship, learning the gospel, and spreading it around to
people who don’t yet know it.
Whether you identify yourself as a prayer novice or a prayer warrior, God calls you to pray
faithfully. Graciously, God has given us a lot of ways to pray ... congregational prayer - as we find in worship; intercessory prayer – as we intercede on behalf of someone else; Psalms – Biblical prayers
and songs on a spectrum of human conditions; healing prayer – for specific problems.
Where do you fit into this life of prayer at Northern Hills? Would you like to have some prayer training?
Would you like to pray with people after worship? Do you want to contact and pray for those people
who are experiencing loss?
God has given us all hearts and minds designed to love and be in contact with God as we grow together
in prayer ministries. Please contact Susan Porr at 210-654-0881 or susanp@nhumc.org to participate in our growing Prayer Ministry.

EARLY SERVICES MERGER
JUNE 22
The 8:30 services will merge into one service beginning Sunday, June 22. This is being
done because (1) the service in the chapel is at capacity and unable to grow, and (2) the
chapel will not be accessible when we begin construction, hopefully in late summer or
early fall.
The one 8:30 service will be held in the Worship Center. This service will be traditional.
It will be very similar to the service that is presently held in the chapel. This will give us
three distinct worship-style options: traditional at 8:30, contemporary at 9:45, and
blended praise and worship at 11:00.
Thank you for your patience, support, and understanding. |

YOUTH WORK SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
There are so many ways for youth to be involved in our youth ministry, and many youth would like the opportunity to earn the money that it takes to go to an event. But we need your help! You can sponsor the youth program by giving a monetary donation or work opportunity to the youth work program. Contact Becky at beckyc@nhumc.org for details to hire a youth or sponsor a youth to do a job. |

WELCOME CENTER
Visitors are invited to stop by the table located at the front of the Worship Center after each service. We have information, Bibles, and a special gift for first-time guests. Members of the church, along with one or more of our pastors, will be there to introduce themselves to you. |
