I commit:

  • My prayers: that I will grow and renew my relationship with God and others.

Some of our ongoing projects.
Serving the Body of Christ through Ministry and Reaching our World (near and far) through Witness and Mission.

CHURCH WOMEN UNITED
We are members of the national ecumenical movement that brings Christians together through worship, study, action, and celebration. Monthly, we join with women of 13 denominations and 84+ congregations in San Antonio .
METHODIST MISSION HOME
We support MMH through prayers, visits, and financial assistance in their ministry of serving vulnerable people who are experiencing major life transitions so they may become more productive members of our community.
UNITED METHODIST CAMPUS MINISTRIES
We support UMCM through prayer, Bible study, furnishing lunch at SAC's location, donate supplies, and financial assistance.
WESLEY COMMUNITY CENTER
We support WCC through prayer, sewing/quilting supplies, food, clothing, hygiene and other supplies, and financial assistance. We also help with WCC's rummage sales.
WOMAN AT THE WELL HOUSE
WWH provides a safe and secure living environment for women leaving jail or prison, assists them spiritually, economically, and emotionally, assists them in reintegration into society and becoming productive members of society, and makes victorious disciples of Jesus Christ. UMW supports WWH through prayer, donations of items, and financial assistance.
COMFORT CAPS
For cancer patients on chemotherapy
These caps are made and distributed to 8 cancer institutions in Texas and one in Arkansas. We made 365 caps in 2007.
NORTHERN HILLS UMC PROJECTS

UMW logo, Women's Division

The emblem of United Methodist Women, the cross and the flame, symbolizes our organization. The cross and the flame are ancient symbols of the church and appear on The United Methodist Church emblem. Both symbols remind us of the opportunities and obligations of discipleship.

Paul's words to Timothy have fresh and contemporary meaning: "...I now remind you to stir into flame the gift of God which is within you..." (2 Timothy 1:6, New English Bible). As United Methodist Women, we share our gift of God with others through mission.

As parts of our emblem, the cross and the flame remind us of our PURPOSE of growing in our understanding of and willingness to participate in the global ministries of the church. They remind us of our heritage of women who pioneered in service for the church at home and in other countries.

The overall shape of the emblem is also symbolic. Fluid and free flowing, the shape suggests change and mobility. The women who came before us were at the forefront of movements for change. Always aware of the times, we move with ever-changing circumstances rather than feeling overwhelmed by them.

We are a twentieth-century movement called United Methodist Women. We are a group of Christian women with many gifts who are unified by one Spirit. We participate in God's mission in all areas of life.

SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS
AND SMALL GROUP
OUTREACH PROJECT

Here is an idea of a great and easy to do outreach project. Designate one day each month to bring something for the food pantry. One Sunday could be "Can of Soup Day" or "Box of Cereal Day". This will help keep the pantry filled throughout the year. For more information on outreach projects that you or your group can get involved in, please contact Jo Hess at 590-1911.

GROUPLIFE RECRUITING
NEW TEAM MEMBERS

GroupLife is looking to add new members to our team. Being part of GroupLife is a great way to help others get connected within the church. We help church members to get involved in serving Jesus Christ through a variety of activities. We generally meet once a month on Sunday after the 11:00 am service. Please contact Carol Marquardt at 210-877-1414 or nutcrachers80@aol.com for more information.
