From Sunday School to Wednesday night activities, from VBS to Day School, there are many opportunities for children to learn and know the love of Jesus, and for adults to volunteer their time.

GENERATION STATION
Sunday Morning

The Generation Station is the church home for your kids, infants through fifth grade. Our vision is to lead the children of the Next Generation into a loving, committed relationship with Jesus Christ, and our goal is to prepare them for the purpose God created them.

Elevate Kids
9:45 and/or 11 a.m.
1st through 3rd grade kids have an excitement filled Sunday morning with music, skits, games and small group time where your children will embark on a fun journey of Biblical learning.

Live B.I.G.
4th & 5th Grade Sunday School
9:45 and/or 11 a.m.
4th and 5th graders. Tweens have an opportunity to grow in their faith and to live out their won belief in God through games, discussion, crafts, and fun!

Kinder Kids
9:45 a.m. - Noon
Kindergartners will spend their Sunday mornings with loving teachers and volunteers learning of God’s love and care in their everyday lives. Bible lessons, art, snacks, songs, and prayer will keep them actively learning and playing for one or two hours on Sunday mornings.

Special Needs Class
9:45 a.m. - Noon

For elementary children. Children, K-5th are invited to attend a class especially designed and staffed to meet their needs and learn of God’s love and care in a loving and safe environment.

Infants, Toddlers, and PreSchoolers
8:30 a.m. - Noon
The youngest Northern Hills attendees are introduced to a God who loves them through caring staff and volunteers. As they grow, they are introduced to Bible stories that come alive through teaching and hands-on opportunities.

DAY SCHOOL
Day School at Northern Hills provides a loving Christian environment for your child. We offer a place to learn, while enabling each child to develop socially, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. Classes are during the regular school year, Tuesday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

NEW LIFE DEAF FELLOWSHIP
Sundays at 11 a.m.
Location:
NLDF Annex

The Southwest Texas Conference’s only worship service designed specifically for the deaf community. Music, prayers, and messages are presented in ASL with voice interpretation for the hearing.

YOUTH MINISTRY AT NORTHERN HILLS
Open to all 6 – 12th grade students

Middle School (6-8th grades) and High School (9-12th grades) have both joint and separate activities through out the year.

The goal of youth ministry at Northern Hills is to help each individual youth connect through meaningful relationships with other youth, adults, and ultimately Christ. Diverse opportunities allow youth to connect "where they are".

SUNDAY EVENING
5-7 p.m. - Middle and High School Classes

Middle and High School youth and Volunteer Leaders gather for dinner (light meal or snack for minimal cost), have fun though games and relevant lessons and worship with one another.

WEDNESDAY EVENING
5:30 p.m. - Dinner for the church family
6:00 p.m. - Worship Lite
7-8 p.m. - Youth enjoy team building games
and brief Bible lesson and recreation
8-8:30 p.m. - Open Gym

Through out the year there are trips, retreats, fellowship nights, mission trips, service projects, special events, and more!

Prayer Ministries
PASTORS AND LAITY
Leaders in the church who pray over concerns of the church and visit members in the hospital. Every Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. our prayer warriors meet in the Sanctuary to pray over all concerns known about. Every Sunday after each worship service a prayer partner will pray with anyone as requested.

Worship Arts

SANCTUARY CHOIR
Practice on Thursdays at 7-8 p.m.
Location:
Worship Center

Open to high school students through adults and serves in leading the traditional services at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Members raise their voices in praise through a variety of musical anthems, choruses and seasonal cantatas. Come and share your gift of music and spirit through song!

CHERUB CHOIR
Practice on Wednesdays
Choir from 6:00-6:30 p.m.

This choir is for children ages four through kinder who want to explore the love of God through music and offer their understanding of God's love through participation in both traditional and contemporary worship traditions. Children will be learning a variety of traditional and contemporary musical settings of God's word and have the opportunity to participate in various special musical events throughout the church year. KING'S KIDS CHOIRS
Practice on Wednesdays 6:30-7:15 p.m.

Designed for elementary aged children in grades Kindergarten-5th grade. Children will be initially split into two smaller groups for learning basic music reading concepts and practicing and will combine together to offer their gifts of music for both contemporary and traditional worship settings. All children are encouraged to participate throughout the church year in various special music events. Choirs will be organized by Andrea Riggs and led by volunteers. Practice on Sunday afternoon.

Designed for students in 6th-12th grade. Members will participate in both contemporary and traditional worship settings and learn how to express the love of Christ through various musical opportunities throughout San Antonio. Youth are also encouraged to participate in the seasonal musical works of the church. The choir will be organized and led by Andrea Riggs.

GUITAR ORCHESTRATIONS
The beginning guitar class is geared for those who don't know anything about guitar through those who have reasonable proficiency with open chords. The intermediate/advanced class covers barre chords, fretboard theory, advanced techniques, tablature and music notation, etc. For more information about either class, please contact Abel Stewart.

Emmaus Groups
NHC EMMAUS COMMUNITY
Meets on the last Monday of each month at 6:45 p.m.
Location:
NHUMC
The Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders. The program's approach seriously considers the model of Christ's servanthood and encourages Christ's disciples to act in ways appropriate to being "a servant of all". They meet once a month for a potluck meal and worship. This colorful group provides support for a spiritual weekend retreat entitled “A Walk to Emmaus”.
